After some egg collecting, bottle feeding and pony rides, we headed out after a quick lunch to Dartmoor. First we went to see Powdermills (where we used to holiday when I was little). Unfortunately there is no right of way there now so we could only admire from a distance.
Then on to Postbridge for a quick few photos of the clapperbridge
Then we set off to find a tor to climb. We went for the easiest option – which was apparently called Hollow Tor. Dx and Lx wailed most of the way up – with Lx refusing to climb the last part for about 10 minutes so we left her and all carried on up!
As soon as we got out of the car we spotted a bird – which excited Sx but as it was of the “small brown” variety it wasnt the most exciting for the rest of us. Turns out it was a “meadow pipit” Sx tells us thats quite rare (but I am not sure if that was just to improve its importance to us!)
