Another beautiful evening but I am shattered right now and no real energy to do anything Luckily I have managed to wangle a weekend without the kids to recharge my batteries. After the success of last night’s bluebell photos, I was keen to try and take some more in the series but didn’t want to drag all the others too far We had a little look around when I picked Gx up from drama class but there was nothing inspiring – so instead we went for a bit more of an urban background…
Gx was off to a local scout centre in the vening with rhe cub scouts to do some campfire building and games. It was a beautiful evening so I got Lx dressed in something suitable “just in case” and threw the camera in the car. I am glad I did as there was a little area of bluebells – just big enough for a couple of photos…
Off to a friends for a walk through the bluebell woods – unfortunately they were all on the decline. So I took photos of her children instead (posted here with kind permission!) To see her photos of our woodland walk please visit her blog here
Back for yummy homemade soup and a natter then home to get the children from school, to get Dx ready and dropped at his school disco.
Then to get the house ready for Dan to come and babysit. Then off to presentation evening and to find Sx won “most improved player” for the A team – a huge achievement (and a huge trophy!!) but well deserved
Another early start today to get Sx to a tournament where the squad for the county rugby team are chosen. THose chosen go forward to “round two” which takes the form of a skills evening in a couple of weeks The boys from his team were very nervous – they all take their rugby seriously.
Sx got injured with a nose bleed about 5 minutes into the first game (of two)He tried to carry on but was pulled off and then they would not let him go back as they were worried he may haev hit his head. He was determined to go back on and seemed fine so he played the second match. Now the waiting game begins to hear if he got through.
(all photos have been cropped to avoid identifying other players so apologies if they look a bit odd!)
An early start this morning to drive up to London to go to Twickenham for Rugby 7s. I like watching the 7s tournament as there is a great atmosphere – lots of people dress up (this years theme was “monsters”) and there are always players warming up for the next game so lots to be watching aswell as the game itself
It was such a busy week there were a few random photos taken here and there…
Tuesday – at the football match in the evening I decided to try something different. A little bokeh abstract of the match!Wednesday
Editing all day – off to take photos at school football match in the evening. None of my children were playing – I was doing it for the school so luckily it was fine enough for them to be amused. Gx sat in the car with the ipad, Sx practised his footie skills and the little two ate biscuits! (And Dx picked a present for me – bless him!)
Then all the children other than Gx went to Matt’s for the night and I managed to get last weekend’s Spring Ball photos out for viewing.
Gx to filming of Lewis today – took him up to Pinewood in the morning (luckily not too early so we were able to go for a Mum and sn breakfast before I had hoped to go for a MASSIVE breakfast at the Carvery to set him up for the day – but it was shut so we had to make do with McDs)
An incredibly busy week this week. Gx had a football match in the evening and Sx had football training so it was a case of dashing from dropping one off to going to watch the other. I stopped ni the house briefly on the way to pick up some clothes for Lx with the idea of taking a few photos of her this evening too. I am glad I did.
I had seen some wonderful rapeseed fields the week before on a visit to a friend and had been trying to work out how I could get all the children over one day to take some photos of Lx in the fields. So today’s activities all led to this point! I fed the boys biscuits to keep them happy in the car ,parked next to the fields and had a quick ten minutes with Lx before we set off for home.
Then we discovered a little playground in the woods…
It started well with pancakes and strawberries for breakfast…
then we went out geocaching for the first time ever….and discovered it is a good way to get Dx to walk places without moaning!!
Then we went to the park for a picnic lunch – and left in a hurry when poor Dx got bullied and knocked off the climbing frame. He was all for going home at that point but I managed to persuade him we should continue with our day…
