One of those frantic days today with college in the morning and helping in school in the afternoon. In between was a quick hour at home gathering ballet stuff (for Lx) drama stuff for Gx and football bits for Sx – then organising a picnic tea for Sx to have at his 4 hour football tournament, something which could be heated up by my Dad for Gx to eat before going to drama and something easy for the little two to enjoy with my parents once Lx and my Mum got back from ballet.

KN3A9546(3)Sx and his team won their league in the football tournament (and it didn’t rain) so we are back for round two next Tuesday. And my parents did a great job of ferrying the others to clubs and feeding them.

So with all this to do…I have to wonder how I found the time to play about with taking and editing photos of dandelions?!

This year there seem to be bluebells EVERYWHERE and lots of people posting photos of beautiful bluebell woods. I found out there are some not far from where I live so a friend and I went for a little trip between rain showers to take some photos.

KN3A0531(2)-3

I managed to take only my macro lens and forgeot my “normal” lens (24-105mm) which restricted me a little. But I still tried to see what variety of photos I could get with just the 100mm macro (which I am still trying desperately to master!)…KN3A0504(2)

We have had such a lovely chilled out weekend this weekend. It starting with Gx volunteering to take on making this mornings pancakes…

KN3A0345(2) KN3A0346(2)which everyone enjoyed – and as Sx is away at my parents, I was able to sit and join them (hopefully soon the dining room will be usable again for us to all sit together more often)

KN3A0351(2)Then it was time for haircuts for Gx and Dx – as you can tell from the photo of Gx cooking, his hair NEEDED a cut!(normally they make FAR more fuss bout this than they did today. I got away lightly. They hate it as their hair is so fine it takes me a while. Sx has hair so thick I can use the clippers all over – but theirs is so fine they would look bald if it was that short on top)

KN3A0362(3)milkDx an Lx had a bath to wash all the hair off him. He does so love his baths – and there is only so long he will be little enough to swim in the bath 😀

KN3A0356(2) KN3A0357(2) KN3A0366(2) KN3A0369(2)And then time to see if I could beat yesterday’s “bunny” lunch. Today’s is supposed to be a bird!

KN3A0373(2)Later we drove to my parents to pick up Sx – and have a roast dinner with my them. We didn’t get back till 9pm and the children were all in bed asleep by about 9.05!

The first weekend after the football and rugby seasons ended. How wonderful to have the whole day to ourselves at home.

After a session of cuddling in front of the TV to wake up…

the children enjoyed a pyjama day. There was playdough…

Bedtimes aren’t always popular – but to be fair the children still seem to be struggling with being tired since we got back from our holiday (over 2 weeks ago!) and are all quite happy to go to bed. Today was the first day since we got back that Sx was up before I got up – that used to be a VERY rare occasion.

Of course sometimes they don’t LOOK that happy to be going to bed!

We came straighgt back home this morning instead of having a day at the beach as the weather wasn’t great and nothing seemed to have been organised. (and I think Sx and Gx just wanted to get home and chill out as we haven’t had much time at home since we got back from holiday).

I see other people take great photos with their iphone so am still trying to find out how. It is so convenient to have a phone with you at all times it would be great to be able to take photos “to keep” so I keep on trying. And last night as I walked home to the caravan I took this one – just 50 yards from the caravan. Shame it was so cold as it was a lovely location.

Another sunny day and they played in the garden when they came home. Dx came in with flowers for me. Thank goodness for photographs which last longer than daisies do…

“Because…it’s a special moment when you learn to cross the monkey bars”

KN3A8167(2)TOS

A beautiful blue sky and sunshine today. Unfortunately for most of the day I was stuck inside trying to unpack, sort out washing, arrange for new credit cards to be delivered (the old one was lost on holiday) and sort out other financial chores.

KN3A8126(2)

And unfortunately for the boys – Tuesday is homework night so they couldn’t dash straight out (mean Mummy!)

KN3A8146(2)

But after the homework was done, an opportunity for Gx to go to football training, Sx to go for a run with his Dad and for Dx to show off to Lx how he can now cross the monkey bars. It is lovely whn the sun s out on these beautiful evenings and they can play outside and aren’t cooped up indoors.

KN3A8179(3)TOS

And a chance for Lx to show that having your pyjamas on should never stop you from joining your brother on the climbing frameKN3A8190(2)TOS

And then a chance for Sx to catch up with his Roblox group and be sure that all is running ok.

After 9 years our cherry tree has discovered how to blossom. Previously it only managed about 3 flowers a year. It is hardly “thick” with blossom but is definitely covered and was a lovely sight to come home to.

KN3A8123(4)TOS

We arrived home yesterday from our 3 weeks in Florida and our bodies are still trying to adjust to the 5 hour time difference so getting up for school this morning was tricky.

I have never known Sx so difficult to get out of bed – he had to be dragged out – then he went to sleep on the sofa. Then after breakfast he got dressed and fell asleep again.

KN3A8118(2)TOS

While we were at swimming classes, he stayed home and had another doze.

Hopefully tomorrow will be easier
