The children are spending most of the week with their Dad but I had them back for a day today to go up to London with them. We visited the Imperial War Museum as Dx has been learning all about the Second World War. They had a new exhibition of First World War bits too (which was a bit dry and boring and lots of reading to do and we weren’t so impressed with)

We took a picnic and enjoyed beautiful sunshine at lunchtime to eat our lunch.
Also a chance to take some sample photos to compare with my friend’s identical camera and lens. There is definitely an issue with mine 😦After a bit more exploring of the museum we went off for the children to get a quick look at the amazing display of ceramic poppies atthe Tower of London. Unfortunately London was busy – and the area round the Tower was REALLY busy so we only got a quick glimpse. This Iphone photo was the best I could manage for a shot of the children with the poppies but at least it is enough for them to remember they were there.
Back to Matt’s parents for dinner and for them to catch p on the children’s news. Matt phoned while I was there to say he ouldnt have the children tonight after all so it was home to sort out their beds (which were covered in piles of clothes for charity shops etc as part of this weeks decluttering efforts!)
