Today was my first preschool shoot before Christmas. I always get nervous beforehand because lights are not my forte – and they take SO long to set up! But the children are always lovely to talk to and make such a fuss of me.

When my own children came home I quickly shot some photos for my course before getting them in to do their homework. Having created some pinterest boards for inspiration based on “blur” I wanted to try out my own blurred photos

KN3A5089(sm)This is my second month of participating in a “blog circle”. This months topic was “motion blur”. I decided to take some slow shutter speed photos of the boys enjoying a “nerf war”.

KN3A5111(sm)As an attempt to try something different and for a quirky effect…I quite like how they turned out.

365 Photo a Day Project Photo

“Morning”

**********************

The rambling part…

There was thawing ice on the car when I took the children to school this morning so I spent ten minutes with the macro lens taking some abstracts of it. Depending on the light or what part of the surroundings were reflecting in the watery ice, they all came out different colours. These photos have been brightened – but the colours in them are the original ones with a great variety…

“Autumn Winds”

A VERY wet and windy day today for our visit to Forest School to see what it’s like. Chemistry labs and woodwork rooms haven’t changed since I was at school and neither has the feel of walking down school corridors.

Some things HAVE changed – like the number of computers – and the fully stocked gym with running machines, exercise bikes etc – and a swimming pool!

Came home from swimming classes tonight to find that Sx’s new shoes had arrived – he is starting to care what he looks like and was really pleased with these – although we ended up with an immediate request for some snow boots for the winter too as these won’t be any use in the wet.

Before we know it, he will be one of those boys in blazers and ties and the world of primary school, CBBC and holding hands with his Mum will be behind him.
