I took lx back for her last morning of brownie camp this morning. Both of us ound it tough to get up – and she fell asleep again on the way there!. She asked a couple of times if she could stay hoem but wasn’t too concerned about going back which is good.

I came home for another day without the kids – trying to make some headway into sorting out the house while battling the tiredness which seems to be overwhelming me at present.

I had ordered pizza last night as the oven is broken – and then had thought I could reheat the second half of it tonight, forgetting that the oven was broken!! Oh well it made me cook something far more healthy instead so it was a good thing really!

Tuesday 23/7/2013 – Beach Babes

Today in Amsterdam we were off to the beach! Just 20 minutes by train and we were there. Wall to wall sun loungers, brown bodies and sand.

 

We broke up the general horizontal relaxing with (at various times) beers, sangria and pancakes.

 

As the day came to an end my brother joined us for dinner at the beach. A wonderful restaurant serving THE most delicious champagne cocktails

(although Lx was luckily just as happy with her coke!)

We had to leave before the sun had truly set to catch the last train home – but it was still beautiful.

8/1/2012 – Hospital III (Return of the Brave)

(This post mysteriously disappeared? I know I posted it as I have emails saying people liked it – but I have reposted it as I cant see it anywhere 😦 )

Dx had to go back for blood tests today – so lovely to see him able to WALK into the hospital this time (excuse iPhone quality!)

Everything is fine and they gave him the all clear ater a urine test and a blood test.

I am trying a strategy of “eat 5-a-day and get ice cream at dinner”. So far it is working!

The rambling…

Brunch this morning with some of the Brazilian side of the family – my neice Eliana and the girls flew in from Switzerland last night and stayed at Mum and Dad’s before they go up to my other neice Susan’s today. So I got to catch up with them and meet Susan’s little boy Hugo for the first time – what a cutie!! (Don’t even mention that I am “Great Aunt Claire” 5 times over!!)

After school we had another attempt at celebrating Gx’s birthday. I had felt too poorly on Monday to be able to help make it special which was such a shame and we had promised a 2nd unofficial birthday to mak up for it. Some more cards (which had arrived late) some extra presents (alway popular)…

another meal at McD’s (you can’t have too many of these when you are 9) …

and then chocolate fudge cake as a birthday cake served hot with neapolitan ice cream. (We let the children have a birthday candle for each year of their age until they reach 10. Just as well as getting 9 candles to fit on is hard enough!!)
