This week for my online photography course I am supposed to plan a shot. But after my enthusiasm the first week I have struggled this week. My camera has gone in for repair leaving me with a decent back up camera – but one which is unfamiliar to me and feels like I am all thumbs and the quality is not the same . I miss my camera and my mojo is missing too so I have found it hard to engage in the course
So today I wanted to get a photo of my daughter in the dress she was going to wear for the school disco. I knew it would be dark when I shot her and I don’t do fancy lighting well. I had an image in my head involving her, street lights and her hair showing movement.
In the end I was only able to take a few REALLY quick shots with my point and shoot camera. But part of the course is about the processing and creating art from the everyday. So I processed it into something which matched more what was in my head.
Hopefully a weekend away this weekend will help – no real camera opportunities but lots of cocktails will hopefully revive my flagging mojo!
